Company Background:

Headquartered in Torrington, Connecticut and founded in 1986, Torrington Research Company began by providing contract engineering for the automotive industry. Through innovative engineering and design, Torrington established itself as a dominant player in state-of-the-art axial and centrifugal blower systems. Customers such as Chrysler Corporation, and Ford Motor Company, have benefited from these advances in the areas of noise reduction, fan efficiency, reliable airflow measurement and reduction in overall size, number of components and cost of associated motors.

In 1994, Torrington determined that manufacturing capability was required to properly capitalize on the superior technology that it had developed. Over the past ten years, Torrington has earned worldwide recognition as a leader in engineering, development and manufacture of air moving systems that include high performance cooling systems, efficient cooling fans, blower based medical equipment systems, process pumps, oscillating fans, air filtration units and cooking exhaust systems. Furthermore, Torrington has successfully established strategic partnerships and volume-manufacturing programs for several customers in their respective markets including Intel (processor chip market), Infocus (electronic projector market), General Electric (consumer/appliance product market), and Evo Medical Solutions (medical equipment market.)

The Company plans to continue exploring other market opportunities consistent with its overall business model that help differentiate their customer's end products in high growth, emerging and mature markets.
