Cook Top Exhaust System
Torrington designed a sheet metal blower housing with flexibility in its geometry that improved performance and reduced noise for a major supplier of cook-top and range appliances. Previously, the company was purchasing off the shelf blowers and attaching the module to plenums under the cook tops to provide downdraft suction of cooking fumes.

Clothes Dryer
A major manufacturer of washers and dryers needed to increase the airflow through their dryer in order to reduce the drying cycle time in their main line of clothes dryers. Their existing system design was constrained by available space and by the speed of the blower. Torrington achieved a 30% improvement in flow through design improvements to the wheel and housing.

Range Hoods
High volume kitchen range hoods are traditionally sold on price alone. Their fan is usually loud to the point of limiting conversation in the kitchen. Torrington worked with a major supplier of range hoods to design fans that would be very quiet, while providing the same airflow without changing outside appearance of the hood, or costing more than current units. Our engineers accomplished this by selecting a low operating speed in combination with a highly efficient Torrington fan and the supplier launched the resulting product with great success.

Convection Ovens
A major manufacturer of convection ovens for the fast food industry became concerned that they were vulnerable to competitors who touted better cooking performance. Torrington developed methodologies to quantify good cooking performance and then redesigned the customer's convection ovens, improving cooking performance from about 70% to over 90%.
